About

Shaun Hawk

I’m Senior Manager of Data Management & Technology at FSM Controls, where I lead development of Huckleberry Services — a platform for utility data, building analytics, and field operations. Most of my day-to-day is still PHP, with a growing stack of JS/TS, Rust, and Go on the side.

I hold a degree in Information Systems from the University of North Florida, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction, complemented by a minor in Business.

What I Work On

Huckleberry Services is the core product I build at FSM — a platform that brings utility billing, building equipment data, and field surveys into one place for energy and facilities teams.

It ingests utility accounts and interval data through automated file imports, connects to building management systems via Niagara and SkySpark for live equipment readings, and powers dashboards and reports used across commercial building portfolios. Field teams collect site data through mobile forms; that data flows back into Huckleberry for analysis, auditing, and ongoing facilities management.

I’m charged with the full rollout, modernization, and go-to-market for the platform, including moving the front end toward React and TypeScript while keeping the existing PHP and integration stack running in production.

Outside of work, I write about AI-assisted development, homelab infrastructure, and the tools I use to stay productive — things like OpenClaw, Claude Code, and Codex.

Side Projects

See the Projects page for details on Huckleberry Services, the Buckhead of Tallahassee HOA site, AI tooling, and other work.
